Goldlion Holdings Limited is a Hong Kong listed company founded by Dr. the Honourable Tsang Hin Chi, a member of the Standing Committee of the Eighth to Tenth National People’s Congress, Forerunner of Reform and G.B.M.. Upon its establishment in 1968, ties were manufactured by simple tools such as a pair of scissors and a sewing machine in a family workshop with an area of 60 square meters. After a long history of hard work, “Goldlion – Men’s World” has become famous all over the world.

 

Goldlion is one of the first brands to introduce formal wear culture into mainland China, and is an active participant and witness of the national reform and opening up. The rapid development of Goldlion has benefited from opportunities of China’s reform and opening up. “A kindness of a drop of water should be repaid with a spring of water.” Adhering to Dr. Tsang’s philosophy of “industriousness, frugality, integrity and trustworthiness” and paying closely attention to social welfare undertakings, Goldlion Group, under the leadership of the Chairman, Mr. Tsang Chi Ming, is committed to actively giving back and contributing to the society and sparing no effort in public welfare undertakings. The accumulated donations and livelihood supplies of the Group have amounted to nearly $284 million over the years.

Goldlion Group is mainly engaged in the production, operation and sales of men’s clothing and apparel, mainly under the Goldlion brand. Goldlion’s series of products include men’s formal wear, business casual, fashionable leisure, clothing, men’s and women’s leather goods and shoes, underwear, etc. So far, Goldlion has approximately 800 specialty stores/counters for its clothing and apparel series in mainland China, and nearly 2,700 specialty stores/counters for leather goods, leather shoes, underwear and G|Y casual clothing operated by franchisees. Goldlion has established nationwide mature and stable marketing channels and networks.

 

As the central government vigorously promotes the strategies of “powering the country through quality” and “powering the country through science and technology”, Goldlion is accelerating its quality development. In recent years, Goldlion has fully committed in the research and development of core technologies, promoted quality growth and independently developed innovative technologies and patents. In its development of more than 56 years, the Goldlion brand has won numerous awards. In the past two years, Goldlion obtained more than 80 patents, including 8 invention patents, 45 utility model patents and 27 design patents. In particular, Goldlion was presented with the “2023 China Apparel Industry Science and Technology Progress Excellence Award” for its “3D non-iron clothing manufacturing, research and development and application”. Goldlion has always firmly consolidated its leading position in China’s apparel industry with an international perspective, a scientific outlook on corporate development and a spirit of continuous pursuit of excellence.

Founder

Dr. Tsang Hin Chi

(1934-2019)

Dr. the Honourable Tsang Hin Chi,  G.B.M., Forerunner of Reform, was a founder of the Group. Dr. Tsang held an Honorary Doctorate degree from the Sun Yat-sen University in the People’s Republic of China (the “PRC”), and an Honorary Doctorate degree in Social Science from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University. He was an honorary citizen of Beijing, Harbin, Shenyang and Guangzhou. Dr. Tsang was the honorary vice chairman of the Seventh session of the All-China Federation of Industry & Commerce, chairman of the thirty-ninth, fortieth and forty-third session of the Chinese General Chamber of Commerce, and committee member to several Hong Kong and Mainland trade associations. Other public offices he held included honorary director of the Tsang Hin Chi Education Foundation under the Ministry of Education of the PRC, honorary director of the Tsang Hin Chi Manned Space Foundation, honorary director of the Tsang Hin Chi Sports Foundation, deputy managing director of the Jinan University, and life honorary chairman of the Jiaying University in Guangdong. He also served as a member of the Standing Committee in the National People’s Congress of the PRC from the eighth through the tenth session.

Mr. Tsang Chi Ming, Ricky

Mr. Tsang Chi Ming, Ricky, BBS, J.P., is the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Group. Mr. Tsang joined the Group in 1989 and was appointed as an executive Director in 2001 and as the Chief Executive Officer in 2005. Mr. Tsang was re-designated as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer in April 2018. He has extensive commercial experience and is a member of the National Committee of the C.P.P.C.C.. Mr. Tsang is also vice chairman of All-China Chamber of Industry and Commerce, vice chairman of Guangdong Federation of Industry & Commerce, vice chairman of Guangdong Province Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese, chairman of The Association of Overseas and Domestic Guangdong Hakka, chairman of Guangdong International Overseas Chinese Chamber of Commerce, vice chairman of the Chinese General Chamber of Commerce, executive chairman of Hong Kong Hakka Associations, chairman of Hong Kong Federation of Meizhou Associations, chairman of New Territories General Chamber of Commerce, vice president of Centum Charitas Foundation, chairman of Proactive Think Tank Limited and an honorary citizen of Guangzhou and Meizhou.

On the occasion of the 56th anniversary of its establishment, Goldlion obtained more than 80 patents, including 8 invention patents, 45 utility model patents and 27 design patents. In particular, Goldlion was presented with the “2023 China Apparel Industry Science and Technology Progress Excellence Award” for its “3D non-iron clothing manufacturing, research and development and application”; and an invention patent certificate was obtained for “a method of manufacturing 100% cotton, high yarn count and non-iron clothing”.
